hair stick
A hair ornament used to hold hair up or simply to be decorative, or both. It is stick shaped, long and usually narrow. The hair is wrapped around the hair stick and then pinned in place.
Hair sticks are extremely old and can be traced back to ancient China, Egypt, Greece and India. They can be as simple as a literal stick or branch, or highly intricate with lots of detail.
For hair sticks with Chinese elements or dangle objects, use hair stick and Chinese hairpin.
