Edit
A specific type of shoulder-less sweater which is naturally designed with a low and wide-cut neckline which ensures that the garment sits just below the shoulders, leaving them and the wearer's upper chest area bare. Often features a thicker, sometimes mantle-like hem along the top.
Off-shoulder sweaters are meant to emphasize and accentuate the wearer's shoulders, collarbone, and neck (or nape), with the sleeves of an off-shoulder sweater sitting on the upper arms instead of on top of the shoulders.
Frequently appears as a distinct variant of ribbed sweater.
