A 2007-2012 (after a brief 2010 hiatus) 4koma series written and illustrated by Kakifly, with a 2009-2010 two-season anime adaptation by Kyoto Animation. A movie was released in 2011.
There are two sequel series named K-On! College and K-On! High School. The former shows the newly graduated girls going to college, while the latter shows Azusa and her friends form a new band.
A spin-off manga, K-On! Shuffle, began publication in 2018.
